Man, teen allegedly caught red-handed stealing booze from licensed premises in Alice Springs

A MAN has been arrested and charged after he and a teenager were caught allegedly breaking into a licensed premises in Alice Springs and stealing alcohol.

A MAN has been arrested and charged after he and a teenager were caught allegedly breaking into a licensed premises in Alice Springs and stealing alcohol.

NT Police will allege the 38-year-old man and 14-year-old boy unlawfully entered a licensed business on Gap Road in the early hours of August 18.

The pair were allegedly attempting to leave with alcohol when they were interrupted by the owners, who had arrived at the scene following a separate unlawful entry at the premises hours earlier.

The man was arrested by detectives at a Sadadeen residence yesterday.

He has been charged with one count of unlawful entry and will appear before the Alice Springs Local Court at a later date.

The youth, who was identified by detectives from the Alice Springs Criminal Investigation Branch, is also due to appear before court on one count of unlawful entry.
