A HOME has gone up in flames in Palmerston overnight with one man having to be rushed to hospital with serious burns.
The man was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital by St John Ambulance paramedics.
The residents were woken by a smoke alarm and managed to escape the house themselves.
The house was significantly damaged in the blaze.
Police and firefighters were called to a home on Antares Crt, Woodroffe about 4am and found the home well alight.
NT Police Watch Commander Senior Sergeant Vicki Koum said NT Fire and Rescue crews extinguished the fire and police blocked off surrounding areas.

Sen Sgt Koum said it was a timely reminder to ensure smoke alarms are properly installed and maintained.
“Test your smoke alarm at least once a month and replace all smoke alarms in your home every 10 years,” she said.
