A MAN who assaulted a police officer has been jailed for six months and fined $350.
Nicholas Kenari faced Alice Springs Local Court on Wednesday and pleaded guilty to one count each of aggravated assault, assaulting a police officer and possession of a dangerous drug.
The court heard on October 7 in Alice Springs Kenari assaulted Anita Wilson, who was threatened with an iron bar and suffered harm.
On November 2 he assaulted a police officer on duty, namely Senior Constable Troy Dixon.
On the same day he was charged with possessing less than a trafficable quantity of cannabis.
Kenari was sentenced to six months and seven days jail and fined $350.
