TERRITORY police have arrested a man in his 40s in Marrakai in relation to a number of child sex offences.
Police allege that between December 2020 and July 2021, the man engaged in indecent messaging with online covert operatives posing as a 14-year-old girl.
On July 14, detectives from the Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team (JACET) executed a search warrant at the man’s home, where they seized his personal mobile phone.
The man has been charged with using a carriage service to procure a child under 16, transmit indecent communication and solicit child abuse material, as well as failing to comply with reporting conditions.
He was remanded to appear before Darwin Local Court today.
