A 46-year-old man allegedly pulled out a knife and threatened to stab security after he was removed from a pub in Alice Springs overnight.
Southern Watch Commander Adrian Kidney said police responded to a disturbance at a licenced venue in the CBD at about 1.30am on Sunday.
“A 46-year-old male had been ejected from the premise,” he said.
“Upon being ejected he produced a small pocket knife and threatened security staff.
“The male lunged at security several times before being ground stabilised.”
He said the two security staff only sustained superficial wounds to the hands and stomach. “Fortunately they did not require treatment,” Cdr Kidney said.
“A small pocket knife was seized. The male was arrested and conveyed to the watch house where he remains in custody.
“He will be charged and bail considered later this morning.”
