PROSECUTORS are continuing to collect statements in the case of a former NT political staffer accused of raping a younger family member about two decades ago, which returned to court today.
The man in his 30s, who in May was charged with two counts of sexual intercourse without consent and two counts of committing an act of gross indecency, was excused from attending the Darwin Local Court and was instead represented by criminal barrister Matt Hubber.
Crown prosecutor Tamara Grealy requested a four week adjournment to give prosecutors time to finish collecting statements for the case.
“There are still a few outstanding statements to follow up,” she said.
“(We are) working diligently.”
The case is due to return to court on August 18.
