A woman driving with an unrestrained child in the back seat has returned an alcohol reading of more than three times the legal limit.

A WOMAN driving with an unrestrained child in the back seat has been caught drink driving, returning a reading of more than three times the legal limit.

Shortly after 9pm, police pulled over the female on the Stuart Highway near Lagoon Road in Berrimah and conducted a roadside breath test.

The driver returned a reading of 0.172, more than three times the legal limit.

She was charged with high range drink driving, which results in an instance lost of licence and faces a string of additional charges.
