A POLICE pursuit across Katherine has seen a 35-year-old man locked up after testing positive for driving under the influence of alcohol.
NT Police Northern Watch Commander Len Turner said police had arrested the man after a pursuit that lasted nearly half an hour.
“About 4am in Katherine, a White Holden Jackaroo led police on a pursuit for about 20 minutes around the surrounds of Katherine,” he said.
“A pursuit was culminated and concluded with the car stopping and police arresting a 35-year-old local male.”
Cmdr Turner said when breath-tested, the man had recorded a high-range blood alcohol reading.

“He was subjected to a breath analysis, (and) returned five times the legal limit of 0.254 per cent,” he said.
“He’s been taken to the police watch house where he can be processed.”
