A DARWIN cop commandeered a golf buggy during a dramatic chase to catch an armed suspect running through an inner city golf course.
Police responded to reports of an assault at Minidil Beach at about 12.30pm on Saturday, June 20.
A witness was able to identify the alleged male offender and police searched the area, locating the man at the Gardens Park Golf Links at about 12.50pm.

Another witness, who was playing golf at the time, said she was surprised to see police running across the fairway and one commandeered a golf buggy to catch up with the suspect they were chasing.
“I had never seen anything like it,” she said.
Police said the 25-year-old man was arrested and conveyed to the watch house.
He was charged with the assault a person and going armed in public.
