TACTICAL Response Group police and other emergency response personnel have retrieved a body which was found submerged in a small creek in Darwin’s northern suburbs.
The body was discovered in a creek bed in one of Darwin’s northern suburbs.
Around 7pm Thursday night, police were called to a location in Lyons where the body of a deceased person was found submerged in a small creek.
Detectives, fire trucks and other emergency services personnel were on the scene for much of Friday morning.
Tactical Response Group police and other first responders were seen going down the bank of the creek carrying gear including ropes, planks and tarpaulins as they prepared to retrieve the body.
Damabila Drive between Gulilda Crescent and the corner of Rocklands Drive and Henbury Avenue was closed off when the crime scene was established.
The gender and approximate age of the deceased person are still unknown at this time.

Northern Watch Commander Len Turner said a group of young people found the body on Thursday evening and alerted police.
