NT COPS are on the hunt for a woman who “tried to incite a riot” at an Alice Springs pub before spraying anti-police graffiti on their cars and station and the local courthouse.
Senior Sergeant Adrian Kidney said police responded to a domestic violence call-out at about 10pm on Friday before the alleged offender fled in a car to Uncles Tavern.
Snr Sgt Kidney said when police went into the bar to arrest the man, that was when the woman “attempted to bait a response from police”.
“He was escorted out of the venue and at that time the female’s tried to incite everyone in the tavern and hangers on to turn on police and create a bit of a scene,” he said.
“Members just chose to ignore her.”

Snr Sgt Kidney said the officers took the compliant man into custody and returned to the station where about an hour later the woman was captured on CCTV tagging the vehicles and building with “FTP” and “BLM” in red and pink paint.
“The same female who was trying to incite the people at Uncles Tavern was identified on camera as being the offender in relation to the damage,” he said.
“All up three vehicles were sprayed along with the front of the police station and a wall of the courthouse.”
The initialisms are understood to stand for “F*** the police” and “Black lives matter”.
Snr Sgt Kidney said police recognised the woman but no charges had been laid as “she appears to be avoiding us”.
“We know who it is and we’ve attempted to speak to her and offer her an interview, however she hasn’t been located at this stage,” he said.

In a statement, the NT Police Association labelled the graffiti “absolutely disgusting”.
“The damage to police cars and graffiti of the Alice Springs Police Station and Local Court last night is absolutely disgusting,” the statement said.
“Those vehicles have now been taken off the road — police vehicles that would otherwise be used to keep Territorians safe.
