A DARWIN hotel on Mitchell street has been evacuated after a guest found a note in her room claiming there was a bomb in the building.
Hilton Darwin, on Mitchell St, was evacuated and police from the Territory Response Group cleared the building at around 6.40pm on Monday.
No bomb was found and guests returned to their rooms.
Hilton Darwin general manager Markus Kaliss said the hotel had prioritised their guests and staff safety during investigations.
“The hotel was briefly evacuated as law enforcement searched the premises, and we are thankful to report that the threat was a hoax,” he said.
“(We) apologise to our guests for the interruption to their stay. We also thank the Darwin police for their quick response, and direct any additional questions to them.”
