ONE of seven men charged over a police sting that turned up 132kg of cannabis and almost $2 million in cash will continue his bid for bail next week.
Jeremy James Ford faced the Darwin Local Court on Wednesday charged with commercial drug supply after he was arrested on Thursday following the raids.
In asking the court for a bail assessment report, his lawyer, Matt Hubber, said while the presumption was against bail, that had been overcome by the fact the case against his client was “extremely weak”.
Prosecutors allege Ford was a member of the multimillion-dollar drug syndicate which also included Tama Kirikino, Watene Kirikino, Shannon Wagner, Corey Graham, Michael Lording and alleged kingpin Peter James who all faced court on Monday.
