A 15-YEAR-OLD alleged bag snatcher was apprehended by an off-duty police officer in the Casuarina Shopping Centre in Darwin on Monday morning.
The bag in question belonged to an 80-year-old woman who was sitting in the shopping centre’s food court around 10am when the teen allegedly tried to rob her and then run from the area.

An off-duty police officer noticed the disturbance and was able to step in to safely resolve the situation, according to Watch Commander Mick Fields.
The youth is being assessed for diversion.
