A 17-YEAR-OLD boy has been rushed to Royal Darwin Hospital after suffering a serious stab wound to his lower back this morning.

The incident occurred at a home in Sedge Court, Karama about 12.10am Thursday.

The teenager is now in a stable condition after undergoing surgery this morning.

The two people involved are known to each other.

At least three detectives were on the scene today at a low set home with a trampoline and kids’ toys in the front yard.

Police were called to the scene following reports of a disturbance and found the teen with a 15-inch blade still lodged in his back.

He was rushed to RDH by paramedics.

A 19-year-old man was soon arrested by police and taken to Palmerston watch house for questioning.

Senior Sergeant Warren Scott said detectives were calling for witnesses to the incident.

“Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police on 131 44 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Please quote reference 9578871,” he said.
