THE wife of a senior Territory cop has withdrawn an application for a domestic violence order against him after he agreed to make a no-fault undertaking to the court.
Tammy Shean had applied for the order against Superintendent Daniel Shean in the Darwin Local Court where the case was listed for hearing on Tuesday.
But Supt Shean’s lawyer, Luke Officer, said his client would make an undertaking to the court without any admission of liability and Mrs Shean had agreed to withdraw the application.
Chief Judge Elizabeth Morris suppressed the contents of the undertaking from publication.
“An undertaking is a serious thing that is given to the court,” she said.
“While a breach of the undertaking is not a criminal offence, it is something the court could consider in any future application.”
