October 22, 5pm: A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after allegedly attempting to sexually assault a woman in a Palmerston suburb earlier this week.

The teenager attempted to sexually assault the woman near Vernier Circuit in Woodroffe about 7.30pm on Monday, police allege

He was arrested a short time later and remains in police custody.

He is expected to be charged with attempted sexual intercourse without consent and aggravated assault.

Detectives from the Sex Crimes Unit are continuing to investigate the incident.

Man tasered, woman assaulted in NT community brawl

October 22, 10.32am: A man has been tasered by police following a large disturbance in the remote community of Jilkminggan on Monday.

About 7.30pm on October 21, large groups were seen fighting with weapons, with one man also seen driving dangerously through the community.

Mataranka Police deployed to the area, where a 48-year-old man allegedly threatened officers with a claw hammer and refused to follow directions.

An officer tasered the man, who was apprehended and taken to a local clinic for an assessment.

The man was then transferred to the watch house and has since been charged with assaulting police and going armed in public.

Police also found a woman who was allegedly assaulted by up to six unknown offenders.

She was also taken to the local clinic for medical treatment.

Commander Kylie Anderson bemoaned the situation.

“There is no excuse for the behaviour we saw overnight,” she said.

“Local police will be facilitating mediation talks and anyone with information is urged to contact police on 131 444 or visit your local station.”

Ram raiders confronted by Darwin business owner

October 21, 12.18pm: Police are appealing for information after a vehicle attempted to ram raid a Darwin business.

At about 3.05am on Saturday, police received reports a vehicle had been ramming the front doors of a business on Bishop St, Woolner.

Police say the business owner was on-site and confronted the vehicle, which fled the scene.

The vehicle used by the alleged offenders was later reported stolen.

Police urge anyone with information regarding the incident to make contact on 131 444 and quote reference NTP2400105693.

Teens arrested after Darwin car chase

October 21, 10.37am: Four teenage boys have been arrested after allegedly stealing a vehicle and taking police on a car chase across Darwin.

About 3:15am on Saturday, police received reports of an unlawful entry on Chong-Wee Avenue, Woolner.

A wallet, a set of keys, and a Hyundai Venue was stolen from residence, with the occupants in the home at the time of the robbery.

A short time later, police observed the Hyundai on Tiger Brennan Drive and initiated a pursuit after the vehicle failed to stop for a traffic apprehension.

The chase continued through Stuart Park and Parap before the vehicle was abandoned in Grant St, where the offenders fled on foot in different directions.

Strike Force Trident, Dog Operations Unit, and General Duties members searched the area, arresting four males, two aged 14 and two aged 15.

All four were charged with multiple offences and will appear in Court at a later date.
