A WOMAN and man have been arrested for allegedly using a rake and an Esky to try to assault police after a brawl in Darwin’s outer suburbs.
Northern Watch Commander Andrew Heath said Palmerston police responded to reports of a disturbance involving several people fighting at a residence in Knuckeys Lagoon at 8.50pm, Monday.
“While police were attempting to restore order, a 29-year-old woman picked up a garden rake and tried to hit a male police officer with it,” he said.
“A 31-year-old man then attempted to assault police with an Esky.
“Both offenders were subdued with capsicum spray and arrested.”
Cdr Heath said both people had been charged with assaulting police.
