A Northern Territory police officer has been served with a summons to appear in court after being hit with harassment charges.
NT Police in a statement released on Friday afternoon said the 37-year-old officer had been charged with one count each of using a carriage service to harass and unlawful stalking.
The NT Police spokesperson said the officer was on paid leave.
The officer is scheduled to appear in court on June 14, according to the statement.
Professional Standards Command are currently investigating the case, according to police.
The gender of the officer was not specified in the initial statement, nor was the court the officer will appear in.
