NT Police officer charged with drink driving, going armed in public after Muirhead incident

A Northern Territory Police officer has been suspended with pay after an incident in Darwin over the weekend resulted in seven criminal charges.

A Northern Territory Police officer will face court after allegedly going armed in public and drink driving in Darwin over the weekend.
The 40-year-old man has been suspended with pay as investigations into the Muirhead incident continue.

He has been charged with drink driving, careless driving, failure to provide breath for analysis, going armed in public, and three counts of failing to meet storage requirements.

The officer was granted bail and is due to appear at the Darwin Local Court on May 16.

NT Police said that as the matter was currently under investigation no further details would be provided.
