A young woman is under police watch in Darwin hospital after allegedly repeatedly stabbing her partner.

Northern Watch Commander Sean Patterson said two 18-year-olds were hospitalised following an alleged “nasty domestic violence” incident in Woodroffe, Palmerston.

Mr Patterson alleged about midnight Monday an 18-year-old woman called triple-0 to report she had stabbed her partner, and she had been assaulted herself.

The 18-year-old man was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital with a stab wound to the chest and shoulder.

Mr Patterson said the Domestic Violence Unit was investigating, with the young woman arrested and under police watch while in hospital for her own injuries.

Mr Patterson said the couple were alone in the home at the time of the alleged stabbing.

More to come.
