A Territory cop charged with aggravated assault is still seeking legal representation three months after the alleged violent incident.

On Wednesday Courtney Lenore Harding appeared for the first time before the Darwin Local Court charged with aggravated assault.

NT Police have alleged the 33-year-old Constable was off-duty when she attacked another person in March.

Ms Harding was charged with aggravated assault on April 23, however a NT Police spokesman confirmed she remained on the police payroll while suspended.

In a one-minute hearing before Judge Giles O’Brien-Hartcher, Ms Harding indicated to the court she would need more time to seek legal representation.

Her matter was adjourned to September 2 and she will be required to attend her next hearing.
