Darwin Deck Bar burgled seven times in 72 hours

Five alleged booze bandits have been arrested following multiple break-ins at Darwin bars over the Christmas break.

NT Police have arrested five people following a series of burglaries at closed pubs in the city centre between Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.

Among the venues targeted was The Reserve, Hotel Darwin and Deck Bar, where workers allege the business was broken into seven times over 72 hours.

Investigators have previously alleged that the break ins at The Reserve and Deck Bar were linked.

CCTV appears to show around a dozen people breaking into the Bennett and Mitchell St venue to raid the bar of its beer, wine and spirits over three days.

Deck Bar workers also alleged that the tills were thrown onto the walkways, while unknown people urinated in the fridge and on the kitchen floor.

NT Police said two people, a 32-year-old and 47-year-old, had been charged over the Christmas Eve unlawful entry at Deck Bar.

The pair were charged with aggravated burglary, theft and damage to property.

The investigation remains ongoing to identify up to 10 more people allegedly involved in the series of break-ins at the same venue.

A 52-year-old woman has also been arrested and charged with unlawful entry following the alleged break-in at The Reserve on Christmas night.

An investigation into the Boxing Day Hotel Darwin alleged break-in resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old and a 27-year-old man, who were charged with unlawful entry.
