A man has been arrested on allegations of rape and other sexual assault offences.
Northern Territory Police charged the 35-year-old with one count of sexual intercourse without consent, act of gross indecency, and indecent assault.
He was arrested and charged on Friday. A woman reported the alleged incident to police on September 9.
Police said the alleged incident occurred in Tiwi in Darwin’s northern suburbs.
The man is scheduled to appear in the Darwin Local Court on Monday.
In the NT, there was a total of 355 reported victims of sexual assault throughout 2021.
Of those most were female and more than a third were aged under 18 years at the time of their attack.
