A woman charged with a string of offences following an alleged “domestic violence related incident” at Casuarina Square shopping centre on Friday has faced court for the first time.
Magnolia Maymuru, 22, faced the Darwin Local Court on Monday charged with recklessly endangering life, aggravated assault, going armed with an offensive weapon and breach of bail.
An NT Police spokesman had earlier said Maymuru was arrested after “allegedly stabbing two people following an argument in the underground carpark area” of the shopping centre.
He said paramedics treated a 41-year-old man at the scene for injuries to his leg, while a 29-year-old woman was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital with non-life threatening injuries to her back.
Maymuru did not enter a plea or apply for bail on Monday and was remanded in custody until she returns to court for a preliminary examination mention on May 31.
She is also facing separate, unrelated charges of property damage, unlawful entry and stealing and will again face court on those charges at a directions hearing on May 22.
