Kaspar Hansman, 29, pleaded guilty to all 11 charges related to stabbing attacks on five people in 2021.

Blooding, naked and screaming for his life, a Territory man burst from a bathroom as his girlfriend’s ex-partner kicked open the door.

A Darwin court heard Kaspar Hansman was silent as he held a bloodied knife while two women screamed.

This was the first of two bloody stabbing attacks before a dramatic police pursuit and arrest in late 2021.

Three guards stood around Hansman as the 29-year-old pleaded guilty to all 11 charges in the Supreme Court.

He admitted to causing serious harm, endangering serious harm, attempting to pervert the course of justice, dangerous driving, damage to property, unlawful entry, possessing drugs and manufacturing equipment.

The court heard in early 2021 Hansman and Giovanna Balzaretti had a casual relationship while her partner Benjamin Kellett was serving time in prison.

Before Mr Kellett was released, Ms Balzaretti ended her month and a half relationship with Hansman.

The lovers reunited on Wednesday March 17. But their peace was short-lived.

The couple were sleeping naked in their Howard Springs home when they were woken by the growl of their dog at 3am, Thursday.

Mr Kellett yelled out “who the f —k is there?” as a silhouette of the large man flashed by their window.

When Ms Balzaretti looked outside she spotted Hansman wielding a serrated curved knife above his head.

Hansman said nothing as he barged past her towards Mr Kellett, who tried to lock himself in the bathroom.

Hansman continued to slash the knife through the gap in the door, repeatedly cutting Mr Kellett’s arm, hands and fingers as he forced the door closed.

Crown prosecutor Marty Aust said a slice to Mr Kellett’s forearm caused blood to “spurt” onto the bathroom walls and floor.

The 33-year-old woman grabbed a baseball bat and hit Hansman, only to have him turn and lunge at her with a knife.

Her screams woke her neighbour, Nicole Siebert, who ran in and grabbed the knife-wielding man’s shirt.

Mr Aust said the 27-year-old “shrugged off” her attack, before attempting to stab her too.

“Believing he was going to be stabbed to death, (Mr Kellett) sprinted, naked and bleeding in the direction of a neighbouring house,” Mr Aust said.

Mr Kellett began to lose consciousness as neighbours tried to stop the bleeding with towels.

Hansman said nothing to his screaming victims before he drove away from the home.

Five days later he returned armed with a Bolt action rival.

“If you talk to the police, I will kill you. You’ve got family members and I’ll kill them too,” Hansman told Ms Siebert.

The threat was repeated to Ms Balzaretti, who promised to say nothing.

Eight months later, Hansman again armed himself with a knife and turned on his Muirhead neighbours Alongkorn Khanthongcam and Jakkree Canachai.

The pair were leaving their apartment on December 12 when Hansman plunged a 15cm knife into Mr Khanthongcam’s back.

Hansman stomped on Mr Khanthongcam as he lay on the ground and stabbed him three more times as he tried to crawl away, before slashing Mr Canachai’s groin.

After they fled Hansman used a bottle of bleach and a hose to spray down the trail of blood from his apartment.

The Territory Response Group, a specialist police unit, swarmed to his home.

Hansman drove his car at police, forcing them to jump out of the way, as he ploughed through nature strips to avoid capture.

He was arrested at Alawa the next day.

Mr Aust said a search of the home uncovered a “clandestine drug laboratory”, with thousands of clip seal bags and empty capsules, $1790 in cash, a trafficable quantity of MDMA, 7.39g of testosterone cypionate and cutting agents.

Defence lawyer Shane McMaster said asked for a psychiatric report for his client, who had been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Mr McMasters told Justice Jenny Blokland that the 29-year-old had limited mental health treatment before his arrest.

Hansman is expected to return to the Supreme Court on January 16, 2023.
