A man who found himself facing down the barrel of a police shotgun at a busy fast food restaurant has had his bail and parole revoked by the courts.

Frank William Ingram was one of two men cornered in a dramatic police bust outside the Coolalinga Hungry Jacks on January 5.

Police allege a large-scale manhunt tracked down the 30-year-old and his alleged driver co-accused after Ingram tried to intimidate Palmerston residents in their own home earlier that morning.

It was alleged Ingram threatened people with a crossbow in their Grey home, and left for an hour before returning armed with a shotgun.

Police tracked the blue ute down to the Stuart Highway business at 6pm, with undercover cops dressed in high-vis, balaclavas and Centrelink singlets pointing guns and tasers at Ingram and swarming around the vehicle.

A shotgun, cartridges, a crossbow, knives and drug paraphernalia were allegedly seized.

On Wednesday the Darwin Local Court heard the intense Coolalinga arrest occurred while Ingram was out on parole for offending dating back three years ago and 18-month-old bail conditions.

In 2019, Ingram was sentenced to three years in prison for unlawfully using a vehicle, dangerous driving and damage to property.

After his 18 months non-parole period in Corrections, Ingram was released.

In 2021 Ingram was granted bail after being accused of using two machetes to rob a man at Darwin on July 1, 2021.

He was out on bail when the Coolalinga incident happened, where he was charged with assault, being armed in public, failing to meet storage requirements, recklessly endangering serious harm, damaging property, stealing, assaulting a police officer, while possessing a controlled weapon, fireworks, and ammunition.

He also faces a range of driving charges including travelling in the open load space of a vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, speeding, dangerous driving, and not stopping after a crash.

Ingram was also charged with possessing a thing to administer drugs and drug driving.

Judge Elisabeth Armitage heard the 30-year-old man’s parole had been revoked and his bail was withdrawn.

Ingram remains remanded in custody and will return to Darwin Local Court on March 1, for a preliminary examination on the papers.
