Border Force and NT Police execute search warrant in Humpty Doo property
An intercepted package of allegedly imported gun parts has led investigators to a Humpty Doo property where several items were seized including homemade silencers and ammo.

An intercepted package containing allegedly imported gun silencers has led authorities to a Humpty Doo home where they found homemade firearm parts, 10 guns and ammunition.
Officers from the Australian Border Force, with support from Northern Territory Police, raided the property south of Darwin last week.
The investigation began on March 11 when Border Force officers in Sydney intercepted an air cargo package containing four silencers addressed to the Humpty Doo property.
On March 31, investigators conducted a full search of the property and spoke to a person of interest.
A total of five imported silencers, two homemade silencers and other evidence was seized by Border Force.
Northern Territory Police Firearms Unit suspended the occupant’s firearm licence, and seized 10 additional firearms and associated ammunition.
A notice to appear at Darwin Local Court was issued for May 2 for firearms noncompliance.
NT Police Commander Matthew Hollamby said the findings were concerning. “Irresponsible and unlawful possession of firearms, and firearm accessories, should be a matter for community concern,” he said.
“There is little room for discretion when dealing with firearms offences and offenders will be prosecuted.”
ABF Acting Chief Superintendent Tracie Griffin said “our message is loud and clear”.
“If you attempt to illegally import these types of items, we will detect, we will investigate and we will work with our partners to ensure you face the full consequences of your actions,” she said.
