CCTV footage has captured two youths kicking in a boarded-up window from a previous break-in as they smashed their way into the IGA Zuccoli this morning and stole alcohol from its bottle shop.
Police arrived at the scene after receiving multiple reports of an alarm going off at the IGA around 1am.
Acting senior sergeant Andrew Caruana said that, upon arrival, police were able to confirm the Celebrations bottle shop had been broken into.
“Review of CCTV footage on site revealed two men between the ages of approximately 15 to 18,” A/Sen Sergeant Caruana said.
“They both were wearing baseball caps and gloves, kicked in a boarded up window from a previous unlawful entry and gained entry.”
A/Sen Sergeant Caruana said the offenders had left the scene with an unknown quantity of alcohol before police arrived.
Investigations are continuing and police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard any suspicious activity in the area of Zuccoli IGA this morning.
