THE mother of murdered schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer has posted a heart-wrenching tribute to mark the third anniversary of her daughter’s death.
Three years ago, 12-year-old Tiahleigh was killed by her foster father Rick Thorburn in a crime that shocked Queensland.
Today Tiahleigh’s mother Cindy Palmer, who now calls herself Cindy Uluave, paid tribute to her daughter on social media and talked of her ongoing struggles to deal with her daughter’s death.
“(Three) years on and the pain is still as raw as the day you were brutally taken from us,” she wrote.
“There isn’t a day that goes by that your not in our thoughts and we wish you were still here. I miss you terribly everyday and my heart aches for you.”
On October 30, 2015 the Marsden State High School student died at the hands of her foster father after being molested by her 18-year-old foster brother.
The crime sparked a review into the foster care and Blue Card systems.
Earlier this month, Ms Palmer launched a lawsuit against the State Government and the foster care agency that placed her daughter with her killer.
On Facebook Ms Palmer said time has not healed anything and her heart is broken.
“It makes me sick to my stomach to have to relive what happened to you everyday,” she said.
“Especially knowing that you are never coming back and that the putrid scum responsible for taking your life still get to breathe and live their lives everyday.
“We love and miss you Tiahleigh.”
