A new social video platform has caused a stir with an Instagram post plastered with the words “Roxy is out”, referring to the exit of self-proclaimed PR Queen, Roxy Jacenko.
Wweevv, which describes itself as a “new social video integration platform”, publicly revealed it had taken over Jacenko’s Sweaty Better PR Instagram account, with more than 98,000 followers.
Several Instagram users speculated in the comments whether the announcement was legitimate, accusing the post of being a “hack” attempt, but Jacenko confirmed the news with NCA NewsWire on Tuesday.
“Wweevv has taken over my Sweaty Betty PR Instagram account,” she said.
“The business ceased trading in November 2022 as I retired from PR.”
Jacenko revealed in November last year that she was stepping down from her role as director at Sweaty Betty, the Sydney-based PR firm she established when she was just 24-years-old, at the end of last year.
The 43-year-old mum-of-two said she was turning her focus to other business projects, including her digital influencer talent management agency Ministry of Talent and homewares brand XRJCelebrations.
She has since moved to Singapore with her family.
The colourful and high profile Jacenko has made headlines over the years, and endured public friendship bust ups with the likes of Stephanie Rice and Francesca Packer, as well as a shock cancer diagnosis and a cruel graffiti attack.
Jacenko’s husband Oliver Curtis was jailed for insider trading in 2016, with the PR queen receiving a shock breast cancer diagnosis just weeks later.
After publicly documenting her battle with the illness on 60 Minutes, which included both radiation treatment and surgery, Jacenko was later given the all clear.
Later in 2019 Jacenko was targeted in a series of graffiti attacks, in which crass language was spray painted outside her home and office in North Bondi and Paddington respectively.
Two men aged in their 40s later charged over the incidents.
Jacenko’s 12-year-old daughter Pixie, who owns a $270,000 Mercedes Benz and is an ambassador for Mermade Hair, recently semi-retired from operating her multimillion-dollar accessories brand, Pixie’s Bows.
The 43-year-old business mogul also revealed last month that she had overdosed on Ozempic, a controversial diabetes medication known for its ability to facilitate weight loss.
She warned others against the drug, which is not authorised for weight loss in Australia, telling The Saturday Telegraph she had a severe reaction that left her vomiting and shaking uncontrollably.
