“The change won’t reach Melbourne until the overnight period.”

“Cooler weather will extend up the east coast during Tuesday.

“A wet period will follow the change, with rain for many areas on Monday and Tuesday.”

It comes as heatwave warnings remain in place for parts of Western Australia, NSW, Victoria and Tasmania.

Perth will be sunny on Monday with a top of 37 degrees, with temperatures slightly dropping to a maximum of 33 degrees on Tuesday.

In NSW, severe heatwave remains in place until Monday for the South Coast, Snowy Mountains and Riverina Districts.
