Live coverage of Super Bowl LII between the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles

THE Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl champions for the first time after beating the New England Patriots 41-33 in a thriller.

THE Philadelphia Eagles have won their first Super Bowl after a 41-33 upset win over the New England Patriots.

Nick Foles threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Zach Ertz late in the fourth quarter, with the tight end beating Devin McCourty on a quick-in route and holding the ball in front of him as he drove for the goalline. The ball went over the goal line and popped out of Ertz’s hands as he hit the ground. The ruling was upheld on review, for the 13th scoring possession in the game, which set a Super Bowl record for most yards total offence. The Patriots were trying to win their sixth Super Bowl with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick but it was Philadelphia who climbed the summit of American football for the first time.
