Australian fighter Jack Della Maddalena has produced a masterclass display to become the UFC’s new welterweight champion.
Australian Jack Della Maddalena has become the third UFC champ from Down Under after stunning the world at UFC 315 in Montreal, Canada.
Della Maddalena delivered a masterclass five-round display as he dethroned Belal Muhammad to become the new welterweight king via unanimous decision.

Della Maddalena burst onto the MMA scene as a brutal knockout artist but he showed excellent fight skills and versatility to go the full five rounds and come away with the unanimous decision victory (48-47 x 2, 49-46).
The 27-year-old from Perth, a product of UFC boss Dana White’s Contender Series, is now a bona fide superstar and with a belt three years after his UFC debut in January 2022. He is now 8-0 in UFC fights.

The Aussie kept his undefeated record in tact as he brutalised the now former champ over the course of 25 minutes.
Many expected Muhammad to turn the bout into an all-out grappling war, but Della Maddalena proved too elusive and kept the fight on the feet and picked his opponent apart.
The win means for the first time in history two Australians have held UFC titles simultaneously — after Aussie legend Alex Volkanovski won his featherweight showdown with Diego Lopez last month.
Della Maddalena becomes the third Aussie to win a UFC title following Volkanovski and former middleweight king Robert Whittaker.
In the co-main event, Valentina Shevchenko proved too good against Manon Fiorot, claiming the unanimous decision victory to retain her belt.
There was huge drama in the early undercard fights with four fights being stopped via TKO or KO.
