And the spree of ticket sales ahead of the fixtures has impressed AFLNT CEO Stuart Totham.
“Ticket sales have been off to a great start for both Territory AFL games. It’s great to see the Territory community showing support,” he said.
“After a history making sold-out 2020 clash against Carlton the Suns are back again playing in their second of our four-year partnership.
“We’re thrilled to have our partner, the Suns go head-to-head with the Hawks in Darwin in what will be an exciting game to watch.”
The Suns partnership with AFLNT has proved a fruitful one already with Malcolm Rosas Jr earning his AFL debut against Brisbane Lions.
And with Territorian Joel Jeffrey also in the Suns squad there’s plenty to cheer for when the home side come to town.
The Suns have also adapted the Top End’s indigenous culture into their indigenous guernsey to be worn on game day.
The design is a collaborative effort featuring the artwork by Yugambeh artist Luther Cora and Darwin Larrakia artist Trent Lee. “We are so fortunate to have such an engaged partner, the Suns, supporting footy in the Top End,” Totham said.
