It comes as the NT’s restriction roll back, which began at noon on Friday, means shooting ranges, tennis courts, boot camps and athletics can reopen or restart.
On June 5 all team sporting competitions, including footy, netball, soccer, basketball and cricket can return with spectators.
“Team sports like Touch Football play a big part in people’s lives,” Mr O’Connor said.
“As well as being a healthy activity that keeps people fit, Touch Football provides community, a sense of belonging and a genuine connection with others.
“We know people all over Australia are really keen to dust of the boots and get back on the field, so it’s exciting to see that Northern Territorians will be able to do so in just over a month.
