TERRITORIAN Supercars driver Bryce Fullwood is as eager as ever to race in front of his home crowd in just his second season at the top level of Australian motorsport.
The Walkinshaw Andretti United driver has already managed some strong results this season, including a fifth at Bathurst, but by his own admission, results haven’t quite been where he wants them.
And it’s for that reason the 23-year-old is eyeing up a race on his home track as the perfect opportunity to turn his season around.

“It’s definitely been a challenging start for us and not quite the way I would have wanted to start the year,” Fullwood said.
“But I can’t think of a better place than Darwin to turn the season around and get ourselves back on track.
“I’m super excited to be racing here once again. Darwin is my home and always will be and it will be awesome to see a larger crowd out there compared to last year.
“As the only Territorian, I hope the locals get behind me.
“Obviously everyone has their favourites but Territorians like to stick together and always get behind their own.”
Fellow Walkinshaw driver Chaz Mostert, third in the standings, has been a big aid for the developing driver.
Fullwood’s eyes are squarely on the Hidden Valley racetrack where he and his team will be using new tyres to try and get the upper hand.
“Chaz is an awesome bloke and an awesome teammate who helps me out heaps. He’s like a big brother to me,” Fullwood said.
“For me I never felt I struggled with getting comfortable at this level. They’re all top drivers for a reason, and it has just been about getting used to the racing intensity that comes with this level.
“The goals have had to change due to recent performances but if we can turn those around, we can start to focus on some more long-term goals.
“The Darwin track is a pretty known quantity. But we will be using a different tyre this weekend. We will see how that reacts on this track and hopefully it will allow us to one-up the competition.”
