The Croatian duo had already booked their spot in the final four, but exacted their revenge over the Aussies after they were knocked out of the Australian Open in the second round by the newly formed doubles team.
A tightly contested affair featured plenty of highlight reel moments, with Kyrgios putting the Aussies on the brink of levelling things up at one-set apiece.
Unfortunately they couldn’t capitalise on the opportunity and the loss eliminates them from going any further in the competition.
During the back and forth affair Kyrgios’ frustrations boiled over and his frustration was taken out on his racquet.
Kyrgios and Kokkinakis kept their semi-final hopes alive after producing a stunning second match win.
After sitting on the brink of defeat, Kyrgios took his game to another level late in the second set and went absolutely berserk, wildly revving up the crowd in Turin, Italy as the Special Ks forced a match-deciding tie-break.
Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek led the tie-break 5-1 but Kyrgios and Kokkinakis rallied to win the last nine points of the match and seal a sensational comeback victory.
“I had to take it away from tennis because we were getting outplayed – and then the energy just got us over the line,” Kyrgios said after the win.
“The crowd was amazing – they got us over the line, honestly. I don‘t think the other pair really had any idea what was going on.”

The Croat pairing will taken on Lloyd Glasspool and Harri Heliovaara in one semi-final with Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury taking on Wesley Koolhof and Neal Skupski in the other for a place in the final.
Kyrgios and Kokkinakis however will now head into the tennis off-season before they will return and look to defend their Australian Open doubles crown in January.
