The awkward moment a tennis fan was brutally snubbed while trying to hand a blonde woman sitting next to him a drink at the US Open has gone viral.
The spectator was caught on camera returning to his seat at Louis Armstrong Stadium on Monday night clutching two $23 cocktails - one in each hand.
It looks like he’s about to hand one of the drinks to a blonde woman by his side in the clip, but he’s beaten to it by another man.
In a split-second moment that seemed to catch even him off guard, the woman sitting next to him accepts a drink from a mystery man from the row behind.
The video, which you can watch above, cuts out moments later, but not before capturing the man’s dumbfounded reaction.
The US Open official X account savagely trolled the spectator, sharing vision of the exchange with the caption: “This is cinema”.
It didn’t take long for the clip to go bonkers online.
“This is how his villain arc begins,” wrote Barstool Sports.
“If you look closely you can actually pinpoint the exact moment his heart breaks in two,” wrote one user on X.
“This is a horror film,” added another.
A third simply wrote: “PAIN”.
Some speculated the entire interaction was being misinterpreted, pointing to another woman who also appeared to be expecting a drink but still had a half-drunk cocktail in one hand.
“Clear pass-through. The puzzled look is an indication of him figuring out how to deliver the drink to the second lady now that the first’s hands are occupied,” claimed one viewer.
What happened next is anyone’s guess – although fans were treated to home favourite Frances Tiafoe dispatching of NY native Aleksandar Kovacevic in four sets.

And while most tennis fans were obsessed with the exchange – others were more interested in discussing the outrageous $23USD pricetag of the cocktail at the centre of the clip.
Considered the tournament’s official drink, over 2.25 million “Honey Deuce” cocktails have been sold at the US Open since 2007.
