The Wallabies should be on top of the Tri-Nations ladder but instead are stuck on the bottom after a frustrating tryless draw against Argentina in Newcastle.

Australia was in control early in the second half with a nine-point advantage before the Pumas fought back to earn a share of the points.

Here is how Julian Linden rated every Wallabies player. Do you agree?

15. Tom Banks – 6/10

Another solid game. Was safe under the high ball and made some good runs without ever really threatening.

14. Tom Wright - 7/10

Just two games into his Test career but he already looks the real deal. His first half offload was a rare bit of magic from the Wallabies.

13. Jordan Petaia – 7/10

Showed off some of the tricks in his bag and was unlucky not to score in the first half after his acrobatic touchdown. Kicked the ball away at the end when he needed to hang on.

12. Hunter Paisami – 6/10

Did a good job in the midfield and is looking more comfortable each time but still inexperienced. His grubber kick that almost led to a try was his best moment.

11. Marika Koroibete – 4/10

Poor by his standards. Had a first half try disallowed for a forward pass then gave up the ball a couple of times in the second half as well as some dumb penalties.

10. Reece Hodge – 7/10

Australia’s best player. Kicked his first five penalties to give the Wallabies a nine-point lead but missed his chance to win the game with a difficult shot at the death.

9. Nic White – 5/10

Good first half when he utilised his box kick but was less effective in the second half when he changed tactics and kept the ball in hand.

8. Harry Wilson – 5/10

Just hasn’t been able to get back to the same heights that he showed his firstTest appearances.

7. Michael Hooper – 5/10

Not his best game for the Wallabies. Tried hard, as he always does, but gave up a silly penalty and wasn’t at his sharpest.

6. Ned Hanigan – 6/10

One of the better forwards. His lineout work was impressive and he made some hard metres when they were needed.

5. Matt Philip – 5/10

Workmanlike but unthreatening. One of the few forwards to play the whole 80 minutes.

4. Rob Simmons – 5/10

Didn’t do much wrong but the veteran lock just doesn’t have the impact he once had. This remains Australia’s problem area.

3. Taniela Tupou 4/10

When he comes off the bench he’s unstoppable but when he starts, he just seems to lose his head. Gave up two penalties and was hooked just after halftime.

2. Brandon Paenga-Amosa – 5/10

Scrums and lineouts were really solid. He was caught seagulling a bit in the first half but far from the worst.

1. Scott Sio – 5/10

Another one who seems to be better coming off the bench. Gave up two penalties that stopped Australia’s momentum.

Reserves:

16. Folau Fainga’a – 4/10

17. Angus Bell – 4/10

18. Allan Alaalatoa – 5/10

19. Rob Valetini – 4/10

20. Liam Wright – 4/10

21. Jake Gordon – 3/10

23. Filipo Daugunu – 4/10
