Paul Gallen earns more than $1m playing NRL, so stop complaining about a $50k fine
SO Paul Gallen was hit with a $50k fine; he earns upwards of $1m playing league, and $80k per fight when boxing, so please, enough with the ‘poor Gal’ bleating.

PLEASE, enough with the ‘poor Gal’ bleating already.
Paul Gallen was hit with a $50,000 fine this week. He earns upwards of $1 million-a-season playing rugby league. and $80,000-per-fight in the boxing ring.
Breaking news — the people who pay the majority of Gallen’s monthly wages reside at NRL headquarters in Moore Park. They’re the same people the NSW and Cronulla Sharks captain decided to lash with the c-bomb on Twitter last week.
Case closed. Imagine if the Wallabies vice-captain or the Australian cricket vice-captain did something similar. They’d probably be suspended indefinitely.

KENT: FANS ARE FED UP WITH NRL BAD BOYS
Gallen’s inability to accept responsibility for his actions, which are inevitably what land him in trouble in the first place, is terribly misguided.
With a rap sheet including racial abuse, squirrel gripping, an ASADA ban and being at the centre of a salary cap breach at Cronulla, is it any wonder the NRL has thrown the book at him?
The only surprising thing is it’s taken them so long.
Ever since Dave Smith assumed office at NRL headquarters, the British banker and ex-Welsh soldier has been constantly forced to defend his style of leadership.
Is it strong enough? Is it governed by too many committee meetings and layers of management? Does Smith get caught playing too many political pantomimes? Is he too belligerent towards his staff?
End the argument. Smith’s stance on Gallen is exactly what rugby league is in desperate need of.
