CAFL women’s powerhouse E-Girls and Rovers will contest Saturday’s much anticipated women’s grand final at Traeger Park.

The same two sides met in the second semi-final two weeks ago when the Pioneer women won by 26 points to take the short route to the grand final.

Spearhead Sam Hoogeveen-Hill booted three goals in that game in another reminder to the Rovers hierarchy of the danger she represents in the biggest game of the year.

The E-Girls have only lost once this season, a one-point loss to Wests in the last game of the minor round.

Their minor premiership win was no surprise with players of the calibre of ‘Sissy’ Dunn, Ebony Miller and Hoogeveen-Hill in their playing ranks.

And Libby Taylor’s work through the middle for the reigning premier is a big part of their pre-match planning.

Dunn and Hoogeven-Hill can play at both ends of the ground and Miller’s ruckwork can turn a game with her strength in the clinches and clever tapouts.

Rovers will have to play out of their skin to beat the E-Girls who have a number of options to fall back on if their ‘A’ list fails to fire.

One of the big weapons for Rovers is goalkicking utility Jordann Hickey, a listed player with AFLW club Gold Coast Suns.

The Double Blues’ Kyanne Campbell is only 15 years of age, but her maturity and ability to make on-field decisions makes her a crucial player for Rovers.

The women’s grand final is set down for 11.45am.
