DARWIN trainer Stephen Brown's hot run of form continued at Moonee Valley last night when Rebuild won the opening race.

Flemington-based Brown has only just taken on five horses owned by Bill Gibbins into his stables but he has had immediate success with two of them.

Three-year-old favourite Kievann won the second race at Kyneton on Thursday, a 1200-metre race, following on from a third placing at Sale three weeks ago.

And last night Brown made it a two-day winning quinella when experienced jockey Stephen Baster ran away with the Charter Keck Cramer Plate worth $35,000.

"It was his first start for the stable and Stephen rode him perfectly," Brown said.

"He's a one-pacer so, having drawn barrier one, that was the only way to ride him," he said.

Brown can add to his winning ways at Flemington today. Eight Bills, with apprentice Jaye McNeil in the saddle, is another Gibbins runner having his first start for the Brown camp.

He will contest race three, the Lanec Services Handicap, while the course record holder for the 1000m dash down the Flemington straight is none other than Black Caviar, who clocked 55.42 seconds.

In race five, Post D'france drops back in distance to 1720m, which is expected to pay dividends. Post D'france is having his 20th start and looking for his eighth win.

Alert the Jeweller, the gelding with plenty of Darwin owners, goes around in race six, the $80,000-rated ISIS Handicap over 1200m, with Stephen Baster in the saddle.

At today's meeting at Fannie Bay, Brown has one runner with four-year-old mare Sea Horse, to be ridden by daughter Alana, lining up in the Gusher Plate (1000m) - the opening event on the four-race program.
