Truth emerges amid claim Ezra Mam was breaking Queensland road rules

Broncos star Ezra Mam has again found himself at the centre of controversy with claims he was breaking road rules.

Ezra Mam’s off-season dramas took a fresh turn on Tuesday when a picture emerged of the Broncos superstar with an e-bike that allegedly breaches Queensland speed limit laws.

The photo showed Mam outside the front of the Broncos’ training facility with a V3 Rogue from Burleigh company Oceanside Cycles.

Daily Mail Australia reported Mam had allegedly been using the bike for his daily commute to Broncos training at Red Hill.

However, news.com.au can confirm the picture was no more than a publicity stunt for Oceanside Cycles and that Mam had never ridden the bike and is planning to give it away.

In a since-deleted social media post, Oceanside Cycles posted the picture of Mam to their Instagram captioned: “The lads have been putting in some hard yards and training the house down in 2025. Ezra Mam here with the V3 Rogue for his ride to training.”

But the Broncos have confirmed to news.com.au that Mam never rode the bike, let alone to training, with various teammates giving him lifts while he doesn’t have a license.

And even if a teammate couldn’t give Mam a ride for whatever reason, news.com.au understands the five-eighth lives within walking distance of the facility and wouldn’t require anything like the e-bike to get there.

Mam is understood to be working hard on and off the field following his public court case, with a focus on returning with a bang after serving his NRL suspension in Round 10.

In October, he was involved in a head-on collision with an Uber, with the crash resulting in minor injuries to a woman and her four-year-old daughter.

In December, the 22-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of driving while relevant drug is present in blood and driving without a licence. 

Mam admitted he had used cocaine socially the day before and apologised for his actions.

He was fined $850 and had his license disqualified for six months by the court.

The NRL then stepped in and slapped Mam with a nine-game suspension and he has also been hit with $120,000 in fines from the NRL and the Broncos.
