Wests Tigers trainer Robbie Farah has been forced to deny reports he undermined coach Michael Maguire by yelling abuse at the coach’s box in front of players.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported the incident allegedly took place in the closing stages of the Tigers’ 16-12 loss to the Warriors in Round 3, their third defeat to start the season.
2GB Continuous Call Team host Mark Levy read out an email from a listener detailing the alleged incident involving Farah.

“On Friday night I was sitting in the western grandstand behind the players on the interchange bench,” the email, which Levy read out, said.
“In the closing stages of the game, with the match on the line, Robbie Farah was venting abuse loudly about team decisions to the players. There was an interchange and he told the player coming off, ‘Don’t complain to me, it was that f***ing c*** up there’, pointing to the coaches box.
“The F-words and C-words from Robbie were incredible, and all in front of a shocked crowd. It got so bad Nathan Cayless, our defence coach, had to summon Robbie over and tell him to calm down.”
The Herald contacted Farah to hear his side of the story and he denied the incident took place and was furious at the suggestion he was undermining Maguire in front of his players.
Farah was a massive supporter of Maguire during his playing days, so the allegations seem a little strange.
He took to social media to deny his involvement in the alleged incident, agreeing with Levy that the Tigers are an easy punching bag at the moment.
Laughable how the media can make a story from nothing. In the words of @marklevy2gb - "Tigers are an easy punching bag atm". He was true to his word. I'm Madge's #1 fan. Gonna have to try harder than that to tear us apart!! Nothing to see here ð pic.twitter.com/oZirMWQugT

Last year, The Herald reported Farah was Maguire’s biggest supporter and he believed he was the right man to turn the club around.
“I think Madge cops a bad rap,” Farah told The Herald at the time.
“For one reason or another over time there’s a perception on the style of coach he is that is completely false.
“He has changed a lot as a coach and a person over the past four or five years. I genuinely think he’s the right man for the job. He’s got a genuine care to turn this club around.”
