BOYD Cordner and the Sydney Roosters have been punished in the past for clocking off in an NRL mis-match against Cronulla.
So don’t expect Cordner or any of his Bondi mates to be complacent when they host the struggling Sharks on Sunday.
It might feel like deja vu when the Sharks return to Allianz Stadium.
Last winter they were given no hope to win without skipper Paul Gallen, playmaker Todd Carney or a coach at the Moore Park venue.
This time they’ll be trying to avoid a horror 0-5 start to what is already brewing as a miserable campaign.
The Roosters blew a 24-0 lead last year to lose 30-28 - but that won’t happen if Cordner has anything to do with it.
“Being up 24-0 at halftime, I don’t know what happened at half-time, if the boys got too complacent,” Cordner said this morning.
“I think that was a trend last year with us. We definitely don’t price ourselves on giving up leads. We pride ourselves on being a second-half team.”
The Chooks are flying and aren’t expected to be troubled as they chase their fourth win in five starts.
Cronulla have turned to Jack Bird to solve their early-season five-eighth headache, with the youngster standing out against the Roosters in the Auckland Nines
