THE Bulldogs could be without fiery prop David Klemmer for the opening three weeks of the NRL season after he was charged for his controversial torpedo-style dive on Melbourne Storm’s Kenny Bromwich.
Klemmer has been slapped with a grade two dangerous contact charge, having launched himself into Bromwich’s legs during Saturday night’s trial at Belmore Oval without making an attempt to use his arms in the tackle.
The Bulldogs announced Klemmer’s intention to plead not guilty on Tuesday afternoon.
If found guilty he will miss three weeks.
With Graham also looking at some time on the sidelines following a concussion the Bulldogs forward depth will be tested to its limit.
Sam Kasiano, Tim Browne and Lloyd Perrett are all expected to play bigger minutes should Graham and Klemmer face extended stints on the sideline.
In the only other charge from the weekend, Titans forward Zeb Taia was charged with a grade one dangerous throw but can avoid suspension with an early guilty plea.
