CLEAR the decks, because two star cheapies are set to emerge.
Canterbury’s Kerrod Holland and North Queensland’s Javid Bowen have been named for their second NRL games — and both could become must-have purchases depending on the injury situations of the players they are replacing.
Holland scored a strong 44 on debut in round two, kicking the matchwinning conversion.
He replaces Chase Stanley (hamstring) at centre, who is set to miss 2-4 weeks.
Holland will therefore score at least one price rise — and given Stanley’s long injury history, he could notch as many as three price hikes, with the likely added bonus of round 12 coverage.
Bowen was named once again for the Cowboys following a great 66 on debut.
He looms as a cheapie option for next week depending on the availability of Kane Linnett (shoulder).
Linnett is slated to return as early as next round, which would rule out Bowen as a cheapie.
In other SuperCoach news from the round 6 NRL team announcements:
* Titans rookie Ashley Taylor was named and is expected to play despite suffering a shoulder injury last week. But with a break even of 44, he could be a sell for Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, James Tedesco, Anthony Milford, Shaun Johnson etc;
* Cheapie Daniel Saifiti was named to return from injury on an extended bench. He is predicted to see a $46,000 rise when he next takes the field;
* Jake Trbojevic was named to return after being a late withdrawal last week due to a minor knee injury;
* Bye period must Nathan Peats was named to return from an elbow injury;
* Titans centre Nathan Davis is set for a $47,000 rise as soon as he next takes the field, but the club says he will miss another week. Further, he faces a much harder job to get back into the 17 after Will Zillman (calf) was named to return on an extended bench;
* Jacob Saifiti, the fourth most popular cheapie in SuperCoach, was shifted to the bench to accommodate the return of Tariq Sims (suspension). However, Saifiti has a break even of -2 and is therefore a hold for at least another week, giving SuperCoaches the chance to see how both he and Sims are used by coach Nathan Brown.
BRONCOS v DRAGONS
7.50pm Thursday at Suncorp Stadium
Broncos: 1 Darius Boyd 2 Corey Oates 3 Jack Reed 4 James Roberts 5 Jordan Kahu 6 Anthony Milford 7 Ben Hunt 8 Josh McGuire 9 Andrew McCullough 10 Adam Blair 11 Alex Glenn 12 Matt Gillett 13 Corey Parker (c). Interchange: 14 Jarrod Wallace 15 Sam Thaiday 16 Joe Ofahengaue 17 Kodi Nikorima
Ins: None
Outs: None
Other unavailables: None
Comment: Unchanged. Anthony Milford has scored the second most SuperCoach points of any player this year. With a break even of 124 following a below average 37, he looms as a near-must next week for those who don’t already own him. Corey Oates was the second most popular buy last week, but is now set for a price drop following a 31 (although it could have been a totally different story if he didn’t drop the ball over the line). But despite a relatively high break even of 41, he is a hold for round 12 in the hope he misses Origin selection. It took a couple of weeks, but the Broncos have certainly discovered how to use James Roberts. With a break even of 3, this is the week to get on provided he recovers from a niggling hip complaint.
Dragons: 1 Josh Dugan 2 Peter Mata’utia 3 Euan Aitken 4 Tim Lafai 5 Jason Nightingale 6 Gareth Widdop (c) 7 Benji Marshall 8 Leeson Ah Mau 9 Mitch Rein 10 Russell Packer 11 Tyson Frizell 12 Joel Thompson 13 Jack De Belin. Interchange: 14 Mike Cooper 15 Will Matthews 16 Siliva Havili 17 Jake Marketo
Ins: None
Outs: None
Other unavailables: Dylan Farrell (Back, Indefinite), Mose Masoe (ACL, Season), Yaw Kiti Glymin (Hamstring, Indefinite), Ben Creagh (Knee, Indefinite)
Comment: Unchanged despite a 36-0 hammering by the Cowboys last week. Jack De Belin had bye planners buzzing last week after averaging 78 minutes over rounds three and four. However, he dropped back to 62 minutes last week. While he remains a bye option, he is only a borderline keeper and not a realistic purchase until round 11 at the earliest ahead of the round 12 bye. The same goes for Tyson Frizell. Not only is he in Origin contention, but he has played as little as 57 minutes and as many as 80 minutes. The vast differences in forward game time at the Dragons from week to week will become a big talking point as the byes loom given Paul McGregor’s team have the second best schedule in the comp.
RABBITOHS v ROOSTERS
7.50pm Friday at ANZ Stadium
Rabbitohs: 1 Greg Inglis (c) 2 Bryson Goodwin 3 Kirisome Auva’a 4 Hymel Hunt 5 Aaron Gray 6 Cody Walker 7 Luke Keary 8 George Burgess 9 Cameron McInnes 10 Sam Burgess 11 Chris Grevsmuhl 12 Kyle Turner 13 Nathan Brown. Interchange: 14 Damien Cook 15 Jason Clark 16 David Tyrrell 17 Thomas Burgess 18 Paul Carter 19 Michael Oldfield
Ins: Bryson Goodwin (groin), Paul Carter
Outs: None
Other unavailables: John Sutton (Pectoral, Round 18), Adam Reynolds (Broken jaw, Round 8), Zane Musgrove (Wrist, Indefinite), Angus Crichton (Groin, Round 8), Alex Johnston (Hamstring, Indefinite)
Comment: Bryson Goodwin (groin) returns. But he has been shifted to the wing, with Kirisome Auva’a retaining his centre spot and Michael Oldfield dropping to an extended bench. Paul Carter has again been named out of the 17 and remains a sell given the great form of Chris Grevsmuhl and Nathan Brown, plus Michael Maguire’s love affair with Kyle Turner. Hymel Hunt (break even 35) is reaching his peak and could be sold at any time given the Rabbitohs miss round 12. Sam Burgess is set for a $35,000 price drop and will be ripe for the picking next week for those who don’t yet own him. He is also a massive VC option this week against the struggling Roosters, who have the second worst defence in the comp. The 10,600 who own Greg Inglis must get out quick before he takes the field on a walking frame.
Roosters: 1 Latrell Mitchell 2 Daniel Tupou 3 Brendan Elliot 4 Blake Ferguson 5 Shaun Kenny-Dowall 6 Jayden Nikorima 7 Jackson Hastings 8 Sam Moa 9 Jake Friend (c) 10 Dylan Napa 11 Mitchell Aubusson 12 Aidan Guerra 13 Sio Siua Taukeiaho. Interchange: 14 Isaac Liu 15 Kane Evans 16 Mitchell Frei 17 Eloni Vunakece 24 Abraham Papalii
Ins: Abraham Papalii
Outs: None
Other unavailables: Jared Waerea-Hargreaves (ACL, Indefinite), Mitchell Pearce (Disciplinary, Round 9), Boyd Cordner (Pectoral, Round 8), Vincent Leuluai (Knee, Round 10), Dale Copley (Pectoral, Round 20), Ian Henderson (Broken leg, Indefinite)
Comment: Unchanged 17, with Abraham Papalii added as 18th man. Jayden Nikorima has again been named to start, but could drop back to the bench as per the late change in the last two weeks. Nikorima is set for an $8,000 drop and those who did the last minute switcheroo to Matt Parcell two weeks ago are no doubt very happy. However, the 53,605 who still own Nikorima have little option but to hang on for now given the dearth of replacements - Parcell is out of range, Craig Garvey has dropped back to NSW Cup and Te Marie Martin now has a break even of 19. The long-term goal is to upgrade for the byes to Nathan Peats, Josh Hodgson or a halfback. SuperCoaches should therefore cross their fingers for some attacking stats from Nikorima, which are certainly not out of the question. He played 52 minutes last week (well up on his 19 from the week before), which is definitely enough to notch some high-end numbers. Latrell Mitchell (break even 24) is approaching his peak, but has displayed plenty of potential over the opening rounds and is a hold for now (unless he is your only ticket to RTS, Teddy, Milford etc.) Jackson Hastings has taken on the goalkicking full time and is an indefinite hold at a break even of -24 and predicted rise of $40,800.
EELS v RAIDERS
3pm Saturday at Pirtek Stadium
Eels: 1 Michael Gordon 2 Semi Radradra 3 Michael Jennings 4 Brad Takairangi 5 Clint Gutherson 6 Corey Norman 7 Kieran Foran (c) 8 Junior Paulo 9 Nathan Peats 10 Daniel Alvaro 11 Manu Ma’u 12 Beau Scott 13 Tepai Moeroa. Interchange: 14 Isaac De Gois 15 Peni Terepo 16 Danny Wicks 17 Ken Edwards
Ins: Nathan Peats (elbow), Daniel Alvaro
Outs: David Gower, Kaysa Pritchard
Other unavailables: Anthony Watmough (Knee, Indefinite), Matt Woods (Hamstring, Round 9), Tim Mannah (Shoulder, Round 8), John Folau (Foot, Round 6)
Comment: Nathan Peats (elbow) returns at hooker, with Isaac De Gois shifting to the bench and Kaysa Pritchard dropping out of the 17. Peats, Josh Hodgson and possibly both are on the bye period radar. Ditto for Semi Radradra, Michael Gordon, Manu Ma’u and even Junior Paulo. Radradra has the biggest break even of any player in the comp this week (146) and will drop to a very juicy price in the coming rounds. Let’s hope Michael Jennings learns how to pass.
Raiders: 1 Jack Wighton 2 Edrick Lee 3 Jarrod Croker (c) 4 Joseph Leilua 5 Jordan Rapana 6 Blake Austin 7 Aidan Sezer 8 Shannon Boyd 9 Josh Hodgson 10 Frank-Paul Nuuausala 11 Josh Papalii 12 Elliott Whitehead 13 Shaun Fensom. Interchange: 14 Kurt Baptiste 15 Luke Bateman 16 Paul Vaughan 17 Joseph Tapine
Ins: Luke Bateman
Outs: Sia Soliola (broken arm, round 12)
Other unavailables: Jeff Lima (Hand, Round 11)
Comment: Luke Bateman has been named on the bench in place of Sia Soliola (broken arm, round 12). Keep an eye on Bateman’s minutes as he could emerge as a cheapie down the track. He may also offer cover for round 12, depending on how quickly Soliola recovers. The other big winner from Soliola ‘s injury looms as bye period must Shaun Fensom, who could see increased minutes. Jarrod Croker is also a serious purchase for the byes, but will see a $24,000 rise after this week following a brilliant 95 on Monday.

WARRIORS v SEA EAGLES
5.30pm Saturday at Mt Smart Stadium
Warriors: 1 Roger Tuivasa-Sheck 2 Tuimoala Lolohea 3 Blake Ayshford 4 Solomone Kata 5 Jonathan Wright 6 Shaun Johnson 7 Jeff Robson 8 Jacob Lillyman 9 Issac Luke 10 Ben Matulino 11 Simon Mannering 12 Ryan Hoffman 13 Sam Lisone. Interchange: 14 Jazz Tevaga, 15 Albert Vete 16 Charlie Gubb 17 Konrad Hurrell 19 Thomas Leuluai
Ins: Thomas Leuluai (ACL), Jonathan Wright
Outs: Manu Vatuvei (Hamstring, Indefinite)
Other unavailables: Ligi Sao (Dislocated shoulder, Round 7), Ben Henry (Knee, Indefinite), Bodene Thompson (Ribs, Indefinite), Nathaniel Roache (Ankle, Indefinite)
Comment: Thomas Leuluai (ACL) returns on an extended bench. Jonathan Wright replaces Manu Vatuvei (hamstring, indefinite) on the wing, with former SuperCoach great Konrad Hurrell again snubbed for a starting spot. Hurrell is set for a $42,000 price drop and will be an absolute bargain whenever he returns to the top 17, likely under $200,000. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck is the buy of the week, with a three round average of 88 and projected price rise of almost $6,000. Shaun Johnson isn’t far behind at a $17,000 discount on his starting price and predicted rise of $15,200, particularly for those looking to offload Moses Mbye following his Monday night shocker. Bodene Thompson (ribs, indefinite) remains sidelined, with Simon Mannering to again play on the edge, where he has averaged 48 this year compared to 71 in the middle.
Sea Eagles: 1 Brett Stewart 2 Jorge Taufua 3 Jamie Lyon (c) 4 Steve Matai 5 Tom Trbojevic 6 Dylan Walker 7 Apisai Koroisau 8 Josh Starling 9 Matt Parcell 10 Nate Myles 11 Tom Symonds 12 Martin Taupau 13 Jake Trbojevic. Interchange: 14 Lewis Brown 15 Brenton Lawrence 16 Darcy Lussick 17 Siosaia Vave 18 Blake Leary 21 Luke Burgess
Ins: Jake Trbojevic (knee), Tom Symonds (calf), Luke Burgess
Outs: Feleti Mateo (dropped)
Other unavailables: Jamie Buhrer (Broken thumb, Round 9), Jayden Hodges (ACL, Season), Daly Cherry-Evans (Ankle, Round 9)
Comment: Jake Trbojevic (knee) returns, with Darcy Lussick pushing back to the bench and Blake Leary moving to 18th man. Tom Symonds (calf) returns in the back row in place of Feleti Mateo (dropped). Last week’s cheapie Brenton Lawrence drops back to the bench. He will make another $20,000 this week for The Stalwarts before being sold to Kerrod Holland next round (with duals). Matt Parcell is officially the buy of the season so far. He has made the most money of any player ($132,800) and is set for another $23,700 bump this week. Further, with Apisai Koroisau playing in the halves and Daly Cherry-Evans (ankle, round 9) injured, he is guaranteed 80 minutes for at least the next three weeks, before being switched to Nathan Peats or Josh Hodgson for the byes.
PANTHERS v COWBOYS
7.30pm Saturday at Pepper Stadium
Panthers: 1 Matt Moylan (c) 2 Josh Mansour 3 Waqa Blake 4 Peta Hiku 5 Dallin Watene-Zelezniak 6 Te Maire Martin 7 Jamie Soward 8 Sam McKendry 9 Peter Wallace 10 Reagan Campbell-Gillard 11 Bryce Cartwright 12 Isaah Yeo 13 Trent Merrin. Interchange: 14 Tyrone Peachey 15 Leilani Latu 16 Suaia Matagi 17 James Fisher-Harris 20 Elijah Taylor 21 Jeremy Latimore
Ins: Suaia Matagi, Elijah Taylor
Outs: None
Other unavailables: Dean Whare (Calf, Round 7), Viliame Kikau (Ankle, Indefinite), James Segeyaro (Broken arm, Round 7), Brendan Atwood (Arm, Indefinite)
Comment: Suaia Matagi and Elijah Taylor join the extended bench in the only additions. Te Maire Martin notched a $50,000 price rise, but the money may stop coming soon. The star youngster has a break even of 19 and may struggle for points against defending premiers the Cowboys this weekend. What’s more, James Segeyaro (broken arm, round 7) is out of his cast and due back soon, which could see Martin drop out (with Peter Wallace moving back into the halves). Matchwinner Bryce Cartwright now has the 11th highest average of any player - a figure that would be much higher if not for an injury-induced 22 in round four. Josh Mansour has the second highest average of any centre/wing. But with a long injury history and poor bye schedule, other purchases are more important for now.
Cowboys: 1 Lachlan Coote 2 Kyle Feldt 3 Justin O’Neill 4 Javid Bowen 5 Antonio Winterstein 6 Michael Morgan 7 Johnathan Thurston (c) 8 Matthew Scott (c) 9 Jake Granville 10 James Tamou 11 Gavin Cooper 12 Ethan Lowe 13 Jason Taumalolo. Interchange: 14 Rory Kostjasyn 15 John Asiata 16 Scott Bolton 17 Ben Hannant
Ins: None
Outs: None
Other unavailables: Tautau Moga (ACL, Indefinite), Ray Thompson (Broken leg, Round 10), Kane Linnett (Shoulder, Round 7)
Comment: No changes. Javid Bowen had a cracking debut and looms as a cheapie for next week. However, Paul Green says Kane Kinnett (shoulder) is due back sooner rather than later, which could limit Bowen’s time in the top grade for now. Even so, Bowen is one to keep an eye on, particularly if he scores a spot in round 12 when Origin players are out.
SHARKS v TITANS
2pm Sunday at Southern Cross Stadium
Sharks: 1 Ben Barba 2 Sosaia Feki 3 Jack Bird 4 Ricky Leutele 5 Valentine Holmes 6 James Maloney 7 Chad Townsend 8 Andrew Fifita 9 Michael Ennis 10 Sam Tagataese 11 Luke Lewis 12 Wade Graham 13 Paul Gallen (c). Interchange: 14 Jayson Bukuya 15 Chris Heighington 16 Matt Prior 17 Joseph Paulo 18 Gerard Beale
Ins: Gerard Beale
Outs: None
Other unavailables: Connor Tracey (ACL, Season), David Fifita (Golden staph, Indefinite)
Comment: Paul Gallen will start but the Sharks retain the same 17, with Gerard Beale added as 18th man. Ben Barba has a break even of 28 and looms as a sell either this week or next for the likes of RTS, Teddy, Milf or SJ - especially given his horror bye schedule. Paul Gallen (78) returned with a bang last week, However, he is not a realistic option until round 20 due to injury history, unavailability over Origin and Shane Flanagan’s plans to limit his game time to 60 minutes. James Maloney continues to drop in price and SuperCoaches hope he will be available for a bargain in round 16, when the Sharks will have finished their byes
Titans: 1 David Mead 2 Anthony Don 3 Josh Hoffman 4 John Olive 5 Nene Macdonald 6 Cameron Cullen 7 Ashley Taylor 8 David Shillington 9 Nathan Friend (c) 10 Ryan James 11 Zeb Taia 12 Chris McQueen 13 Greg Bird. Interchange: 14 Luke Douglas 15 Leivaha Pulu 16 Agnatius Paasi 17 Daniel Mortimer 18 Eddy Pettybourne 19 Will Zillman.
Ins: Cameron Cullen, William Zillman, David Shillington
Outs: Lachlan Burr
Other unavailables: Kane Elgey (ACL, Season), Oshae Tuiasau (MCL, Round 8), Nathaniel Peteru (Knee, Round 7), Nathan Davis (Shoulder, Round 7), Matt Srama (Knee, Season), David Hala (Elbow, Round 7), Tyrone Roberts (Knee, Round 7)
Comment: Mixed news for SuperCoaches. Cheapie Ashley Taylor (shoulder) has been named despite picking up an injury last week. However, with a break even of 44, he could be sold at any time. Nathan Davis (shoulder) is set for a $47,000 price rise as soon as he takes the field, but will miss another week. In further bad news, Davis’s chances of getting back into first grade have been dealt a blow, with captain Will Zillman (calf) named on an extended bench and set to come into the backline for John Olive. Zillman returned in Queensland Cup last week. Cameron Cullen scores an NRL debut in the halves, with Tyrone Roberts (knee, round seven) still injured. Cullen could be a cheapie to watch down the track, although with Roberts due back next week, SuperCoaches will likely be forced to wait.
KNIGHTS v TIGERS
4pm Sunday at Hunter Stadium
Knights: 1 Dane Gagai 2 Nathan Ross 3 Sione Mata’utia 4 Pat Mata’utia 5 Akuila Uate 6 Jarrod Mullen 7 Trent Hodkinson (c) 8 Sam Mataora 9 Danny Levi 10 Korbin Sims 11 Tariq Sims (c) 12 Robbie Rochow 13 Jeremy Smith (c). Interchange: 14 Tyler Randell 15 Jack Stockwell 16 Jacob Saifiti 17 Pauli Pauli 18 Daniel Saifiti 19 Mickey Paea.
Ins: Tariq Sims (suspension), Daniel Saifiti (knee)
Outs: None
Other unavailables: David Bhana (Ankle, Round 10), Chanel Mata’utia (Knee, Round 8), James McManus (Concussion, Season), Kade Snowden (Various, Round 7), Jake Mamo (Ankle, Round 7)
Comment: Plenty of SuperCoach-relevant news here. Tariq Sims (suspension) returns in the starting back row, with star cheapie Jacob Saifiti shifting to the bench. With reduced minutes to come, Saifiti looms as a sell in the coming weeks, despite round 12 coverage. However, he is a definite hold this week due to a -2 break even. Pat Mata’utia has peaked for now (break even 52) following a massive $130,000 rise. However, he is a hold for overall players due to round 12 coverage the fact he has averaged almost 40 in base stats. Daniel Saifiti (knee) returns on an extended bench and will see a $46,000 rise after his next game, making him a serious cheapie if he makes the final team.
Tigers: 1 James Tedesco 2 David Nofoaluma 3 Tim Simona 4 Kevin Naiqama 5 Jordan Rankin 6 Mitchell Moses 7 Luke Brooks 8 Aaron Woods (c) 9 Robbie Farah 10 Tim Grant 11 Dene Halatau 12 Chris Lawrence 13 Sauaso Sue. Interchange: 14 Curtis Sironen 15 Ava Seumanufagai 16 Joshua Aloiai 17 Kyle Lovett.
Ins: Curtis Sironen (hamstring)
Outs: Manaia Cherrington (dropped)
Other unavailables: Matt Ballin (ACL, Round 10), Justin Hunt (Back, Round 7)
Comment: Curtis Sironen (hamstring) returns on the bench in place of Manaia Cherrington. James Tedesco (break even 103) could be very juicy next week. SuperCoaches face a dilemma on Jordan Rankin (break even 51), who has peaked for now. He offers a perfect upgrade option to a gun at fullback or five-eighth, but could be worth holding onto due to round 12 coverage and huge scoring potential against the Knights this week. Tim Simona has been named despite his judiciary hearing on Wednesday night.
STORM v BULLDOGS
7pm Monday at AAMI Park
Storm: 1 Cameron Munster 2 Young Tonumaipea 3 Will Chambers 4 Tohu Harris 5 Marika Koroibete 6 Blake Green 7 Cooper Cronk 8 Jesse Bromwich 9 Cameron Smith (c) 10 Jordan McLean 11 Kevin Proctor 12 Kenny Bromwich 13 Dale Finucane Interchange: 14 Christian Welch 15 Tim Glasby 16 Felise Kaufusi 17 Ben Hampton 18 Nelson Asofa-Solomona 19 Richie Kennar
Ins: Marika Koroibete (suspension), Christian Welch
Outs: None
Other unavailables: White Matthew (Calf, Indefinite), Billy Slater (Shoulder, Season), Cheyse Blair (Injury, Indefinite), Jeremy Hawkins (Injury, Indefinite), Curtis Scott (Broken leg, Round 11)
Comment: Marika Koroibete (suspension) is back on the wing, while Christian Welch and Richie Kennar have been named on an extended bench. Tohu Harris remains in the centres due to backline injuries. Cameron Munster will be a must-have at some stage, with round 13 looming as the perfect time to pounce. Semi Radradra and Jarrod Croker are more important targets due to bye schedules.
Bulldogs: 1 Will Hopoate 2 Curtis Rona 3 Josh Morris 4 Kerrod Holland 5 Sam Perrett 6 Josh Reynolds 7 Moses Mbye 8 Aiden Tolman 9 Michael Lichaa 10 James Graham (c) 11 Josh Jackson 12 Tony Williams 13 Greg Eastwood. Interchange: 14 Sam Kasiano 15 Tim Browne 16 David Klemmer 17 Adam Elliott 19 Lloyd Perrett
Ins: Kerrod Holland
Outs: Chase Stanley (hamstring, round 8)
Other unavailables: Brett Morris (Knee, Round 16)
Comment: Cheapie option Kerrod Holland has been named to replace Chase Stanley (hamstring). Stanley is out until at least round eight, which will ensure a bare minimum of one price rise for Holland, plus likely round 12 coverage. Holland will take the goalkicking duties from Moses Mbye, who looms as a sell at a massive $122,600 profit, especially with Shaun Johnson and Anthony Milford so juicy.
