Zac Lomax to Tyrone Peachey
Forced trade. Lomax was my great bye coverage POD when purchased two weeks ago. He’s since scored 26 and five and is now out for six weeks due to a thumb injury. For replacements, I’m tossing up between Bradman Best, David Nofoaluma and Tyrone Peachey, who all offer Round 13 coverage. Best has the base — his 38 points in pure base per game rivals the position leader in Brian To’o (41). But Best could battle for attacking upside in a struggling Knights outfit, who are without main attacking organiser Mitchell Pearce.
Nofo is a KFC SuperCoach great, never averaging below 52 in the past half-decade in an extremely volatile CTW position. But he’s struggling for ball outside Adam Doueihi. Which leaves Peachey …
He has the seventh most points in the position, averages 66 and covers Round 13. What’s more, the coach has resisted the urge to move him to centre this week despite the injuries to Patrick Herbert (calf, round 12), Jonus Pearson (knee, round 15) and Corey Thompson (ankle, round 15-16).
In other words, Peachey finally has an actual position after being shunted around so much during his career. Of course, that position is no real position at all and can loosely be translated to “footballer” – essentially just sniffing around the ball and looking for opportunity. It’s a formula that’s made him very successful for KFC SuperCoach this year. The dual CTW/2RF positioning is just a bonus. Get on at just seven per cent ownership.
Tino Fa’asuamaleaui to Tevita Pangai
I’ll start this spiel by saying I don’t think we’ve seen the best of Big Tino in KFC SuperCoach this year. Further, the ideal round to sell was a fortnight ago when he first got suspended. But I’ve had bigger issues to deal with and only got around to selling now. Tino is a near certainty for Origin and therefore won’t cover Round 13, meaning he has to go at some stage in the next month. With the big BE of 111 it’s hard to see him making much/any cash in that time, so it still makes sense to part ways.
While Tino drops in price, Pangai is on the upward trajectory and therefore the second most popular player this week as KFC SuperCoaches prepare for the Round 13 bye. After starting the season in the middle, Pangai has played 80 minutes on the edge in the last three weeks for an average of 77.3. That’s full-season keeper territory for just $562,300, with a projected rise of +$24,100.

Junior Paulo to David Klemmer
It’s not you Junior it’s me ... actually no it’s you. I was a happy Paulo promoter in our Q&A and heading into round five I decided to take my own advice and add the big man to the Beasts.
At the time the Parramatta powerhouse was rocking a 78.5PPG average busting tackles, lines and throwing his usual plethora of offloads (he had 68 points from four games in OL/TB combined).
Since I purchased him, Paulo has averaged just 37PPG with a slight decline in minutes, a concern but of greater concern is that in those four games Paulo produced just 10 points in OL/TB combined.
With Origin selection still a very live possibility I have decided to cut the cord and pivot from Paulo to a fallen gun in David Klemmer. The Knights’ FRF started 2021 with a bang averaging 72PPG over the opening month. His minutes were inflated as a result of injury to other players but even when playing his regulation 55-60 minutes the workrate was good enough for a 65PPG average.
Then from round 5-8 Klemmer’s output ‘plunged’ to 49.5PPG. I’m putting the decline down to the fact that late in round four Klemmer injured his knee. The injury was not bad enough to stop the big man suiting up but the he was clearly hampered in rounds five, six and seven. Last week Klemmer looked back to, if not his best, at least near it, playing 60 minutes and scoring 58 points.
That flat period has seen Klemmer’s price fall to a very juicy $476K, and hopefully (for KFC SuperCoaches) dented any Origin ambitions and thus we now have a premium Round 13 bye piece available at a mid-range price. I just hope the big fella’s shoulders are broad enough to carry the Beasts...
My other trade is — hold
I have used max trades each week and need to start conserving some or I will fall into a deep dark hole from the mid-point of the season and so in a rare occurrence for me I shall show restraint and bank a trade.
DAVE CAMPBELL
Stefano Utoikamanu to Angus Crichton via duals
I’ve been looking to buy Angus for about a month now but his BE was just too big each week. He has now leaked plenty of cash and his BE has bottomed out so now is the time to jump on and grab him at a bargain. I know Angus will play Origin and Stefano is good bye coverage but I need the points now and Stefano has started losing the cash he’s made. This trade also allows me to move Luke Thompson up to the front row so I can bench Junior Paulo until he pulls his finger out.
Ryan Papenhuyzen to Clint Gutherson
I held Paps in the hope he would return from injury quickly but I can’t justify having nearly $1m benched. I am picking up Gutho at a premium after those two big scores but his bye coverage is solid if he misses Origin and his price is still rising with a BE of just 16. Yeah Gutho has the Roosters this week but that’s followed by the Warriors and Sea Eagles.
