BJ Leilua and Jackson Hastings were the stars in a bumper Saturday of NRL.
2014 winner Dave Von Kotze wraps the action.
Joseph Leilua (99) – continued a brilliant recent run of form falling just one point short of his second consecutive ton with another try and line-break assist for his brother from another mother Jordan Rapana. Leilua’s attacking stats were once again flowing with 9 tackle-busts, a line-break and 4 effective offloads which will see him smash through the $400,000 price barrier this week after scoring 127 points above his breakeven.
Bryce Cartwright (90) – sits with a season average of 67 after putting on yet another SuperCoach master class with a lovely variety of stats including a try, a try-assist with a line-break assist, 2 offloads and 28 tackles.
Jordan Rapana (69) – scoring tries at a rapid rate recently, grabbing a double against the Panthers to make it seven of the best in his past three games for the Green Machine. Rapana could be the fourth player this season to enter the $500,000 club next round coming in at just under $480,000 this week if he finishes the round with this current score.
Jackson Hastings (108) – benefitted greatly from the return of Mitchell Pearce (70) to score his first triple-figured score as a result of two try-assists, a line-break assist, 22 tackles and a perfect night with the boot, kicking seven goals for an extra 28 points for those who gave him a spot in their 17.
Blake Ferguson (107) – rewarded the 8 per cent of SuperCoaches who have the Kangaroos winger in their squad with a hat-trick, a line-break, 3 tackle-busts and a forced drop out. Fergo will start next round valued at around $336,000.
Latrell Mitchell (72) – will follow fellow cheapie Jackson Hastings over the $300,000 mark when he starts next round after exceeding his breakeven by 73 points thanks to a try and line-break assist, 2 offloads, 6 tackle-busts and a line-break.
Johnathan Thurston (83) – continued his run of high scores against the Sea Eagles with another classy display that currently sees him taking the Perfect Eight mantle for the game. Thurston was at his crafty best setting up 3 tries, making 2 line-break assists, forcing 2 drop outs and kicking 5 goals.
Michael Morgan (69) – a try with a line-break and a try-assist which included a line-break assist has seen Morgan play his role in one of the most damaging halves combinations in the game. Morgan’s Test selection virtually locks him into a Maroon jumper which means he is not an option for rounds 12 and 18. But with a six game average of 71, Morgan continues to put his hand up as a super POD for the run home.
Jake Trbojevic (61) – played less game time than usual with 63 minutes but bolstered his score when he set up the last try of the match off his boot to add to 38 tackles and 10 hit-ups. Trbojevic is still flying under the radar with only 11 per cent ownership and will start round 10 with a four game average of 73.
Matt Parcell (66) – over 26,000 SuperCoaches rejoiced when final teams revealed that Matt Parcell would make a return to the Sea Eagles’ starting side. Parcell showed he still has plenty to offer by beating his breakeven by 39 points with 38 tackles, a last touch for a try, a forced drop-out and 5 sniping runs over 8m.
James Segeyaro (48) – he’s back. Seggy made a return for the Chocky Soldiers for his first game since round one and scored just under a point a minute during his 52 minutes. He kept defensive lines on their toes with 9 runs and was solid in defence making 26 tackles.
Josh Mansour (29) – another quiet game with 13 runs and just the one tackle-bust. Mansour will start round 10 valued at around $283,000 after averaging 31 in his past four games.
Josh Hodgson (33) – played 66 minutes but couldn’t re-create the attacking flare that saw him dominate last week with 117 points.
James Fisher-Harris (36) – delighted owners last week with a two- try, career high, triple-figured performance and looked as if it was the beginning of something big when he gained a starting spot. However, it was not to be, leaving the field after 47 minutes with what appeared to be a rib injury.
Ryan Matterson (30) – played 55 minutes on the wing when Joe Burgess (6) got a free ticket to Disneyland due to a wayward shoulder from Korbin Sims, which could see the Knights’ forward in a bit of strife. Matterson will see a decent initial price rise when he steps on the field for his third game if selected next round.
Pat Mata’utia (27) – will drop another $15,000 this week. Pat Mat nearly gave owners a reason to celebrate when he crossed for a try with a line-break but the controversial obstruction rule saw the try disallowed.
Brock Lamb (30) – not the worst debut from the young Newcastle five-eighth but wasn’t able to put on any decent attacking stats, making up the bulk of his score with 25 tackles.
Jake Granville (31) – played 53 minutes of the game and made little impact in attack, making up his score with 29 tackles and just 3 runs.
Brenton Lawrence (35) – scored with a PPM of over 1 but only saw 32 minutes which is a worrying sign for owners who may need to part ways just prior to round 12.
Patrick Kaufusi (15) – may see extended minutes during round 12 but isn’t really getting the opportunity to make any serious cash when he is only playing 20 minutes.
Dylan Walker (9) – any SuperCoaches who were excited about the prospect of Dylan Walker at fullback can put that idea in the rear view mirror. Walker was in the wars all night eventually succumbing to injury after 54 minutes.
